Abby Reilly -- Owner & Founder of Chippewa Valley Doula Services
Abby Reilly found her passion for Doula work after her own personal experiences within the modern American medical community when delivering her children. She began her educational journey at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN. Graduating in 2006 with a B.A. in Psychology. Abby then pursued a Graduate level degree in Counseling. After one year of classwork, she decided that while she enjoyed the work, she was not passionate. This was also the time in her life when her family life began.
Abby has completed all of the requirements put in place by the DONA International, Inc. to be a Certified Birth Doula. The requirements include individual reading requirements, a weekend seminar in Doula training, experience within birthing and breastfeeding classes, and life experience supporting women during their labor, deliveries, and immediate postpartum hours. She is also in the process of working towards an Associates Degree in Nursing and becoming a Registered Nurse through the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Abby personally loves being active and living a wellness lifestyle. She has almost 20 years experience playing and coaching ice hockey and recently discovered a passion for competing in triathlon races. She strives each day to be a great mother and wife to her husband Broghan and children Keller (3 1/2), Lucy (21 months) and Raegan (5 weeks). She is active in her community and is both a supporter and advocate for mother's who want to breastfeed their children.
She looks forward to the opportunities she may have getting to know you, your support network and the child you're carrying and hopefully getting to share in one of the most amazing experiences of your life!
